I have moved around a lot as a result of being in the Army myself and later marrying an “Army husband”. I first started quilting in 1994 when a neighbour asked me to keep her company at a quilting workshop in Northern Ireland. As my husband was posted around UK, I was a member of a number of quilting groups and started City and Guilds Part One in Fareham, Hampshire in 1994. I had to give that up with the birth of my second daughter and only resumed quilting when I ¬†joined Pat Archibald’s ¬†Creative Journey course, on moving to Scotland.
My interest is more in contemporary pieces now. I am currently doing the C&G Diploma course with Gillian Cooper, which has opened my mind to a variety of mixed media techniques.”
